LOWELL H.
Lowell H. was diagnosed with tonsillar cancer and underwent traditional chemotherapy and radiation.  Subsequently he developed three masses in his lungs, and was told he should have bilateral partial resection of both lungs.  At age 80, this was not a viable option. Ground-breaking at the time, he took an immune modulator then had pinpoint radiation to one of the lesions.  This stimulated his body to attack the lung cancer lesions, and they disappeared.  This is now called the abscopal effect, and is now more commonly accepted by the medical community.  A few years after this, Lowell was found to have a colon mass, which was resected.  Lowell will celebrate his 88th birthday this year!!
